Additional Images taken on May 9th,
2003 showing
how the current claimed "Planet X" images are
taken
Recently, Nancy Lieder has been
providing images of a "second sun", that she
claims is the "red persona of Planet X" being
bent by the Earth's gravity. They're nothing more than
reflections of the sun itself in the lenses of the
cameras being used. After looking through my archives of
images that I've taken, I've found an image that exactly
represents what's being seen on the "second sun"
images. Below is an image I took of the sun last July (2002)
with an Olympus D450Z digital camera. The image has been
reduced in size 50% to save space.

As you can see, the "second sun" is quite
visible above and slightly to the left of the sun. This
is a camera artifact, an internal reflection between the
separate lenses that make up the optics of the camera.
Even while being a coated lens (anti-reflection coatings,
typically magnesium flouride), even bright light sources
will create such a reflection in good optics. The
position of the artifact depends on the angle of the
camera lens to the bright object, and will even occur if
the bright object is not in the field of view, or in the
image frame. Notice that the sun is slightly below center
in the frame above, and slightly to the left of center.
If you look closely, there's even a reflection of the
reflection - to the right, and slightly below the first
reflection, and slightly larger. The number of single
lenses that comprise the whole, has a direct affect on
the number of artifacts. Each lens surface is a possible
reflection source.
The same artifact was demonstrated in
images I took recently indoors, where the light source
was an incandescent bulb outside the field of view of the
actual image, but the light was still entering the lens
at an angle. One of those images is shown below.

This clearly demonstrates what's being touted as a "second
sun" by Nancy Lieder, and those intent on hoaxing
images.
Lastly, Nancy's planet is supposed to
be almost 30º away from the locations on these new
images. As far as "red light bending" due to
the gravity of Earth (which it doesn't do to any
noticeable degree), an effect such as this would indicate
that nothing we see in the sky is where it's supposed to
be. Nancy's planet X rises almost a full two hours after
the time of the Greek images. That means (since Nancy
claims sunlight bends as well) that the sunrise as we
know it, occurs two hours before it physically clears the
horizon, and we can see the sun for two full hours after
it has physically fallen below the horizon. Since we can
precisely measure the apparent distance from the sun to
other stars, we know for a fact that this does not occur
at the horizon (to the extreme degree that Nancy claims).
There is a small amount of refraction, but so slight that
it's almost negligable. Certainly not 30 full degrees.
I don't think so Nancy. Nice try, but
no bannana.
