A string of hundreds of mostly uninhabited islands known as the Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu) are scattered off the the Jakarta Bay. Ranging from 20 minutes to two hours away by speedboat, many of the islands have been developed as holiday resorts equipped with luxury accomodations and recreational facilities.
The resorts feature sun-soaked white sandy beaches as well as clean and clear blue tropical waters with an abundance of well-preserved coral, ideal for fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving. |
